"Pet friendly" covers everything from genuinely welcoming to grudgingly tolerated, so the useful question is what the written policy actually says. At Horseshoe Ridge RV Resort in Wimberley, TX, pets are welcome resort-wide, all three cabins are pet-friendly, and the limits are published rather than improvised — up to three pets per campsite, two per cabin. Our full-hookup RV sites sit on 31 acres of walkable Hill Country.
Judge a pet-friendly RV resort on its written policy: how many pets, the fee, where they can go, and whether they can be left unattended. Ours: three pets per campsite, two per cabin, flat $50 cabin pet fee for up to two, 6-ft leash, vaccinations current.
Our Pet Policy, in Plain Terms
Published so you can check it against your own situation before you book rather than at the gate.
The complete set of pet rules sits with everything else on our rules and policies page.

What to Check at Any Pet Friendly RV Resort
The label is unregulated. These are the questions that separate a property that means it from one that puts it on a sign.
| Question | Why it matters | Ours |
|---|---|---|
| How many pets are allowed? | The most common reason a booking falls apart at check-in | 3 per campsite, 2 per cabin |
| What is the fee, and is it per pet? | Per-pet fees add up fast on a long stay | Flat $50 per cabin, covering up to two |
| Are cabins pet-friendly, or only sites? | Many properties allow pets outside but not inside | All three cabins are pet-friendly |
| Where can pets go? | Decides whether a walk means a walk or a car journey | Grounds on a 6-ft leash; not in buildings, restrooms or inside the pool fence |
| Is proof of vaccination required? | Worth knowing before you are standing at the desk | Yes — carry the record |
| Is there anywhere to actually walk them? | The difference between a stay and a stopover | 31 acres with nature trails |
Everything on the property, including what is off-limits to pets, is listed on the amenities page.

Pet Friendly RV Resort FAQs
Is Horseshoe Ridge RV Resort pet friendly?
Yes. Pets are welcome resort-wide, and all three cabin rentals are pet-friendly. We allow up to three pets per campsite and two per cabin. The cabin pet fee is a flat $50 covering up to two pets.
How many pets can you bring to an RV site?
Up to three pets per campsite at Horseshoe Ridge, and up to two per cabin. Pets must be non-aggressive, kept on a 6-ft leash within the resort, and current on vaccinations — carry proof with you.
Is there a pet fee?
For cabins, a flat $50 fee covering up to two pets. Pets at RV campsites are welcome under the same conduct rules. Full pet terms are on our rules and policies page.
Where can pets go on the property?
Pets are welcome throughout the resort grounds on a 6-ft leash. They are not permitted inside resort buildings, in the restrooms, or inside the pool fence.
What do you need to bring for a pet at an RV resort?
Proof of current vaccinations, a 6-ft leash, waste bags, a collapsible water bowl, food in a sealed container, and a tie-out or crate anchor for the site. Bring the vaccination record itself rather than a photo of a reminder card, since that is what gets asked for.
Are the cabins pet friendly, or only the RV sites?
Both. All three cabins — Sea Biscuit, Secretariat and The Mingo — are pet-friendly, with up to two pets per cabin and a flat $50 fee covering up to two. Cabins carry a two-night minimum, check-in after 3:00 PM and check-out by 11:00 AM.
Can you bring a dog on a long-term or monthly RV stay?
Yes, under the same limits — up to three pets per campsite. Monthly and long-term stays are arranged by phone rather than online, since our booking system handles stays of up to 28 days. Call 737-307-2288 and mention the pets when you enquire.
What should you look for in a pet friendly RV park?
Read the policy rather than the label. Check the number of pets allowed, the fee, breed or size restrictions, where on the property pets can go, whether pets can be left unattended at the site, and whether there is shade and somewhere to walk them. A property that publishes all of that has thought about it.
